Unity HDRP & Blender Cycles Comparison
Unity HDRP & Blender Cycles Comparison

Comparison shots from the early days of Unity's HDRP when it was still in beta, showcasing its visual equivalence to offline renderers like Blender Cycles- at least, in simple shots like this one. Cycles path tracing still has the upper hand here, as can be seen in the reflections on the rocket's fins, but the overall similarity came as a surprise.

Scene was lit using a 3-point area light setup in both shots and Progressive lightmapper was used in the Unity version of the shot. I modeled the rocket in Blender and textured it with Substance Painter.
